The Institute’s Articles of Association require that
members of the Institute must be members in one of the following categories.
(1) Fellow
(2) Associate fellow
(3) Full member
(4) Affiliate
(5) Corporate Member
(6) Honorary Member
(7) Life member
Fellow, Associate Fellow, Honorary and Life membership
is awarded by the Institute for service to the migration industry.
The majority of members of the MIA are Full Members.
A full member is a registered migration agent.
A discounted non principal
membership rate applies to a second (or third etc) person
in a company when one person in that company is paying the full member
rate.
Voluntary Worker membership applies to those
persons who are registered migration agents, registered with the MARA as
non-fee charging.
Corporate membership applies to any company,
partnership, community or government organisation, but in the case of a
commercial organisation it must be a company that is not directly engaged
in offering migration consultancy.
An Affiliate Membership applies to persons who are not registered migration agents. A Statutory Declaration is included with the application form and must be provided with the membership application.
