Including adult children in a visa application is not always a straightforward process. Different visas have different time of application and time of decision criteria, and lengthy visa processing times may impact a child’s eligibility to be granted permanent residency with their parents.

This workshop explores the different options for including adult children as secondary applicants, or adult children applying for a Child visa. Complex issues will be discussed.

  • Differences in visa eligibility requirements and identifying the best options for adult children
  • How to prove that a child is a “Member of the Family Unit” or “Dependent Child”
  • Transitioning adult children to PR under Reg 1.12(5)
  • Children over 18 applying for a Child visa
