The Migration Institute of Australia is the peak association representing migration professionals across Australia and overseas.

Our members provide migration advice to a broad range of clients including prospective and settled migrants, employers, workers, students, families and humanitarian entrants.

Become a member

The MIA offers a range of different membership options depending on your circumstances. Applicants must meet the relevant MIA membership eligibility criteria as outlined.

Support for Students

If you are studying migration law with a view to become a Registered Migration Agent, or undertaking your legal practical training with a view to working as a migration professional, you can apply to become an MIA subscriber.

This option is not available if you already have a MARN or Legal Practice Certificate.

This free service provides useful information to support your studies as well as discounted access to selected courses. Once you are qualified and registered you can apply for MIA membership in the relevant category as listed above.
